Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. -Psalm 95:1

Music Is a Key Part of Our Worship

In the Episcopal Church, our theology is found in two places: the Book of Common Prayer and in our hymnals. The texts of our hymns and the anthems sung by the choirs serve to support the readings of the day and to emphasize the seasons of the liturgical year.

Our Singing Choirs

The SINGING CHOIR rehearses on Thursday evenings at 7pm and Sunday mornings at 9am. We sing for the 10am services throughout the program year (Sept-June) plus a few special services. We sing a whole range of music—from some of the earliest chants to music written last year. This choir is open to singers 9th grade and up. All that is required is a love of singing and the willingness and ability to participate in rehearsals.

Our Bell Choir

The ST. JAMES THE LESS RINGERS rehearse on an as-needed basis on Thursday evenings at 6pm. This is a fun and low pressure group who ring our handbells for services during the year. An ability to read music at an elementary level is helpful but not required.

Our Children's Choir

We have a very active set of children's choirs! The CHERUB CHOIR and ST. CECILIA CHILDREN’S CHOIR is open to children as young as 3 years old. This choir rehearses on Sunday mornings during Sunday School and usually sings once a month at the 10 am service.
