Born in California, I grew up in Rapid City, South Dakota, gateway to the beautiful Black Hills. I was raised in the Episcopal Church, and from an early age grew to love its music, ritual and tradition. I became a member of St. James the Less around 2000, when my wife Tracy and I moved to the area. Since then, I have been active in the parish in a variety of ways, including one previous 3-year term on the vestry (during which I served as the Register of the parish), serving on a rector search committee, teaching Sunday School, serving as usher and lector (reader), and singing in the choir.

I have a bachelor’s degree from Stanford University and a law degree from the University of Virginia. I am an attorney, and my law practice focuses primarily on real estate and business law. Over the years I have been active in many community activities, including the Scouts, Y-Guides, Kings Charter Owner’s Association, Rebuilding Together Richmond, and the Greater Richmond Association for Commercial Real Estate. My wonderful wife Tracy and I have been married for almost 25 years. I have one child, Ian, who is a senior at Atlee High School.  My father Wiley joined St. James the Less when he moved to the Richmond area in 2017. I am a high functioning nerd who enjoys science fiction, fantasy, history, theology, the intricacies of parish governance (including canon law), board games, and all varieties of music.

I would like to serve on the vestry because it’s a way of giving back to God and the parish.

I love this parish and its people, and would be honored to serve on the vestry.
